Badminton Horse Trials 2015

Badminton Horse Trials 2015

Last weekend, the Life of Riley team and I travelled to Badminton Horse Trials where we had a stall in the Country Living tent. It’s been 4 years since we last attended, and it was lovely to connect with old customers and meet some new faces.

Badminton House, home of the Horse Trials, is currently the family home of the 11th Duke of Beaufort, a very successful rider himself, placing second in the 1959 event. The Horse Trials first took place in 1949, and was created to train British riders for future international events.

The first day was certainly a typical British day out, freezing cold with gale force winds. The floor was even swaying and the marquee roof was creaking! In spite of this, the leather range was well admired. During the event I got quite into the show jumping, watching it on the big screen in the Marquee, I managed to see the “trot up” from afar.

We weren’t able to see many horses as we were far too busy to leave the stand, but we did see plenty of dogs! It was incredible to see the huge range of breeds passing by the stand.

The event was made even better by the wonderful customers that came to the stand, many looking for gifts for very special occasions. We were able to hand out our new leaflet about personalisation, the perfect way to make a gift just that little bit more unique and special! Here is our new leaflet:

By the end of the event, the weather had settled down, I could have sold the new butler table four times over, as customers returned at the end of the event to purchase bigger items. One lovely man returned three times to buy desk accessories, he certainly liked them! Thanks to last minute sales, we didn’t need to ferry the big items back to the event, which of course was another bonus!

A big thank you to the Life of Riley team, and all those in the Country Living tent for making Badminton even more enjoyable!

See you next year!
